Cyclist killed in Modesto

A cyclist was killed in Modesto when he apparently stopped in the dark and rain on a country highway.

Duran was sitting on his bicycle in the road as the Suburban approached at 65 mph. It was raining and the road was wet. The CHP said Avalos tried to slow down but couldn't avoid hitting Duran.
